Dr Ken Marriott - Managing Director

Educated at Monash University in geography, environmental studies and education.  Ken holds memberships of Parks and Leisure Australia (Life member); National Recreation and Parks Association (U.S.A.) and World Leisure and Recreation Association. He also holds the Frank Stewart award for distinguished service to the recreation industry in Australia.

In the 80s Ken’s career started in teaching at both school and university level. He then worked as a Recreation Consultant and Policy Advisory for the State of Victoria in the Department Youth, Sport and Recreation. He chaired the Upper Yarra Valley Management Consultative Committee, Upper Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges Authority. 

Since 1982 Ken has managed his own recreation planning consultancy and is the Managing Director of HM LEISURE PLANNING.  Ken retains his connections with education as a part-time Senior Lecturer and Visiting Lecturer at Victoria University.  He has published widely and some of the books are available through the HM Leisure Planning Bookstore.

Charmian Gaud - Business Manager

Educated at Manchester University UK and Leeds Metropolitan University (previously Polytechnic) in economic and social studies, education and management studies.  Charmian worked as a Senior Administrator in Local Government in the UK in the early 70s.  On arrival in Australia she was employed at ANU on economic modelling for a Social Welfare Commission project in the Economics Department. Later she worked in board of management administration at University of Sydney Union.  During the 1980s her managerial role in the Registrars Office, The University of Technology,  Sydney led to the updating and computerisation of many systems.

Since 1992 Charmian has been Business Manager of HM LEISURE PLANNING.  Along with day to day management of the business,  Charmian specialises in business planning models, community survey analysis and computer support.
